Slime & Oobleck Day Camp for Foster Kids
The Bay Area Leo Club hosted a Slime & Oobleck Day Camp on July 9 2022 for foster kids ages 5 - 8. We wanted to encourage STEM exploration and curiosity through teaching the science behind slime and oobleck, something all kids love to make and play with for fun. We infused scientific method and each students had one Leo to guide them throughout the experiments!
SF Marin Food Bank
The Bay Area Leos help out at the SF Marin Food Bank to build bags of which is distributed to those without easy access to food. Especially with the impact of the pandemic, it is evident that hunger does not effect us all equally. Food banks are a lifeline for many, and as a club, we feel that volunteering at them is a rewarding and meaningful way to help our communities grow and thrive. We encourage everyone to spend some of their free time volunteering at food banks as well!
